Beat That Holiday Weight Gain!

For one of my clients, I write a monthly HR newsletter, and for the last two months, it's been packed with suggestions for "staying healthy while making merry;" "beating that holiday weight gain;" and "staying active over the holidays."

It was stuff like, pack a jump rope in your carry-on bag for holiday travel, or eat more of the vegetable hors d'oeuvre instead of the cream-filled ones. Right.

At first I thought it was all corporate pablum, then I thought that it didn't apply to me because I was self-employed and could do whatever I wanted.

But no, it's actually really hard to stop eating all the fudge, carmel corn, pumpkin break, chocolate truffles, peppermint bark, and shit as the holidays get closer and closer. And it's hard to do your regular run or trip to the gym when there's last-minute shopping, or family dinners, or gift-wrapping or reunions with old friends. I don't know what it takes to avoid bloating up over the holidays, maybe going for walks or eating more veggies.
