The Divisadero Art Walk
Tonight was the quarterly Divisadero Art Walk. All the bars, cafes, shops and salons up and down our stretch of Divis open their doors extra late, offer drink and food specials and most feature the work of local artists. Ash and St. Frances were at the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus holiday concert and Diego was playing hockey, so I went out to check it out on my own.
I wasn't alone long, because I ran into Dora and her friend from Berkeley having dinner at the Rice Paper Scissors Vietnamese sandwich pop-up cafe at Mojo. Here's some of the cool shit we saw in our neighborhood tonight:
- $3 veggie tacos at Little Chihuahua
- Lake Gallery featuring the funky artwork of a Santa Fe couple who call themselves SCUBA (pictured above)
- Crowds of smoking hipsters in front of Waziema and Population.
- A pop-up pizzeria by Pizza Hacker at Vinyl featuring a Thankgiving Pie described thusly:
Fra'mani Turkey Gravy, Roasted Pork, Dried Cherries & Cranberries, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Shaved Brussel Sprouts, Rosemary, Bariani Olive Oil
I didn't try it, but yup, that's my hood!
