What's It Like to Live in SF?

Lucia visited us last weekend. If St. Frances, Diego, Ash and I make a foursome, Lucia would be our fifth. Like Corin, Zadie, Little Fox, and Natalya, we all went to high school together and Lucia was Ash's best friend.

She was visiting from NYC with her boyfriend Jarod, and her not-so-subtle mission was to convince him to move here. We were walking to dinner at Umami Burger when Jarod started picking my brain about living in SF. Here's some of the questions people tend to ask when they want to know what's like to live here:

• How much do you pay in rent? Is that high? That sounds high.
  
• Do you like your neighborhood? What are some other cool neighborhoods that have lots of bars and cafes and restaurants, close to a park, that are cheaper?
  
• Is it always foggy in SF?
  
• Okay, I think I get the micro-climate thing. What neighborhoods get the most sun?
  
• What neighborhoods get a lot of sun, aren't filled with hipsters and Mexicans, and get a lot of sun? And are cheap... with lots of bars and restaurants?
  
• Is the Marina really full of douchebags?
  
• Do you like living here?
  
• Does it always smell like pot? Or piss?
